Pilates is designed to help you move well throughout life.  Based on a series of movements developed over 100 years ago by Joseph Pilates, it will help keep you mobile, improve your posture and  balance and strengthen deep muscles which are often overlooked in other exercise programmes.

Pilates identifies any areas of the body where there may be a weakness or restriction.  Over time we  gradually change our movement patterns to compensate for this without realising it, which can lead to injury or discomfort.  

I enjoy teaching small group classes or one-to-ones so that it can be more tailored to you.  The movements are done with control and learning the correct way to do them is easier in a small class environment.  

Your body is your greatest asset and  worth looking after to keep it functioning as it's meant to do.  The best way see what Pilates is all about is to try a session!

APPI developed a  method of Pilates which has been adapted to make it safe and progressive for anyone.  It was important to me to be  trained by physiotherapist Master Trainers and the best Pilates I had ever done was with APPI trained instructors, so naturally I followed this route for my own practise.  The training took place over 9 months,  including in person training in the London studio.

I am currently training to teach Reformer Pilates with APPI which allows further progression for you as a client and I am also committed to continuing professional development.

I'm happiest when my body feels like it's working well and believe in exercising a way out of a problem if at all possible!  Having undergone major surgery some years ago, Pilates was the first exercise I went back to and when you learn the foundations of Pilates, you'll always have that in your back pocket for whenever you need it.
